Yes – it has finally happened. One of our inns has been (quite rightfully) assigned the title of ‘perfect.’By Alistair Sawday, no less.
The Inn at Whitewell has won an “Old Favourites” award in the first Sawday’s British Hotel Awards.
To coincide with the publication of edition 16 of Sawday’s British Hotel guide, which is out this month, the first Sawday’s British Hotel Awards showcased 15 winners across five categories – Hotels of the Year, Favourite Newcomers, Old Favourites, Nicely Priced and Fabulous Food.
Alastair Sawday, founder of Sawday’s said: “Like a good red wine, some hotels get better with age – these places have a clear instinct for great hospitality and have been delighting guests for years.”
The new guide’s entry for The Inn at Whitewell reads: “It is almost impossible to imagine a day when a better inn will grace the English landscape. Everything here is perfect.”
