Celebrating 30 Years of Hospitality in Dumfries and Galloway

The Selkirk Arms are offering a fantastic 30 year celebration offer…

This June will be the 30th anniversary of the hotel owners Chris & Sue Walker arriving in Dumfries and Galloway to take on The Creebridge House Hotel in Newton Stewart. The pair all those years ago had the Creebridge for 13 years, The Masonic Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet for 5 years and have been here at The Selkirk for 12 years. Chris once appeared on Radio 2 with Debbie Thrower and had a TV series “Spoon with a view” on Border TV in the early 90’s.

This year will see a celebratory menu running throughout June and July with some of the old classics such as Filo Parcels of Lamb (a dish Chris won the Scottish Lamb Challenge with in 1992 ), Ecclefechan butter Tart, Chicken Maryland, Prawn and Avocado cocktail and Jackie’s Chicken Curry with red onions. Chris said “when we look back over the years we’ve had some great staff to work with, made some great friends and have had a truly amazing set of loyal customers who have followed us. 30 years just seems to have flown by and we’d like to thank all our current team, past team members and customers for letting us be part of their lives”.
