The Boar’s Head
At The Boar’s Head, the kitchen delights in crafting delicious meals using fresh vegetables from Ripley Castle’s historic Victorian walled gardens, complemented by locally sourced ingredients. Guests can savour their meals in the elegant dining room, the cosy bar, or enjoy the charming option of dining al fresco. Relax in the tranquil beer garden, shaded by crisp white parasols and surrounded by French-inspired architecture and beautiful climbing plants.
The Peacock
Located in the heart of the Peak District, The Peacock at Rowsley is renowned for its exceptional dining experience, led by Head Chef Dan Smith. Having earned three AA Rosettes, the restaurant showcases Dan’s expertise in creating exquisite menus using only the finest ingredients, including organically-reared beef and lamb from the Haddon Estate, as well as locally-sourced meats from nearby butchers E. W. Coates and Hancock’s. Guests can savour dishes like the pan-fried fillet of Derbyshire beef, paired with braised ribs, smoked mash, and a rich red wine sauce.
The White Horse & Griffin
Head Chef Michael Coates and his team at The White Horse & Griffin serve up delicious dishes in a relaxed, unfussy style, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients from Whitby’s finest suppliers. The inn offers two dining spaces: a more formal upstairs dining room, perfect for larger groups and special occasions, and a cosy, relaxed bistro downstairs. Both settings reflect the laid-back yet refined approach that Michael brings to his menus, ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest.

The Selkirk Arms
Ryan Millar, head chef at The Selkirk Arms since 2017, brings a wealth of experience from Glasgow and South Africa to the kitchen. Leading a team of six chefs, Ryan is known for his inventive approach and the creation of the Inn’s popular green vegetarian and vegan menu, packed with dishes even meat lovers will enjoy. Offering top-quality bistro-style cuisine, The Selkirk Arms serves a consistent menu of fresh, locally sourced ingredients across the bar, bistro, and Artistas Restaurant, ensuring a delightful dining experience from casual lunches to formal dinners.
The Hundred House
The Hundred House Hotel restaurant, led by Stuart Phillips, is renowned for showcasing Shropshire’s finest produce. Stuart, whose family has run the hotel for decades, honed his culinary skills in prestigious kitchens, including the Chester Grosvenor and a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant in Brittany. His cooking blends traditional British ingredients with European flavours, creating an experimental yet refined menu. The hotel’s award-winning garden, which grows over 50 types of herbs, along with locally sourced ingredients, has helped the restaurant maintain its two AA Rosettes for over 20 years, making it a celebrated dining spot in Shropshire.
