Cycling fever has the Great Inns of Britain in its grip with two major cycling events – the Tour of Britain and the UCI Road World Championships – on their collective doorsteps this September.

The Tour of Britain kicks off on Saturday 7th September in Glasgow with day one finishing in Kirkcudbright, home to The Selkirk Arms. To coincide they are offering a 2 night bed and breakfast stay for £198 per room – BOOK NOW.

Arriving on Friday 6th September you’ll have plenty of time to explore the wonderful, colourful Artists town of Kirkcudbright and settle into the hotel. If you’re a cyclist then why not join them on one of their arranged and led rides to explore further. They’ll also be hosting a BBQ in the garden from to experience the atmosphere of the tour.

Yorkshire and Harrogate will also host some of the world’s greatest cyclists, and cycling teams (22nd – 29th September) and our Yorkshire based Great Inns of Britain, are getting ready to welcome thousands of cycling fans with some great hospitality, exceptional food & drink and a warm Yorkshire welcome.

The UCI Road World Championships Yorkshire 2019 Para-Cycling International – Wetherby 41km and 28km race will pass the doorstep of The Boar’s Head, Ripley. Why not join them to watch an afternoon of cycling, then retreat to the sheltered beer garden to enjoy food and refreshments. 

Or, head to The Blue Lion, East Witton as the Team Time Trial Mixed race passes by. Take in the spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales, breathe in the fresh country air and experience the magnificent walks the region has to offer.
