This atmospheric Georgian coaching inn, managed by the Phillips family, is renowned for its award-winning cuisine. With over 25 years of holding AA Rosettes and multiple awards, including “Best Independent Restaurant in Telford” and “Best Posh Nosh in Shropshire,” it stands as one of the top dining destinations in the region.
The restaurant takes pride in crafting everything from scratch on-site, often incorporating fresh fruit and herbs from their working kitchen garden, which guests are welcome to explore at their leisure. The interior seamlessly blends traditional elements like brickwork, beams, and quarry tiles with hanging herbs from the garden and colourful leaded lanterns.

The Boar’s Head at Ripley Castle
The Boar’s Head in Ripley is a must-visit for those looking to explore the Yorkshire countryside.
They specialise in a good honest pub grub with a selection of Yorkshire classics and Ripley Castle Estate favourites.
The Boar’s Head also takes pride in championing local businesses, including Harrogate Tipple, based in Ripley Castle Estate. Locally sourced ingredients and seasonal botanicals from the Ripley Castle gardens are used to create the gin and rum spirits.
