Offering visitors heartwarming hospitality, historic character and excellent quality food and drink, we were delighted to discover that three Great Inns of Britain have all featured in the newly published edition of the Good Hotel Guide 2019.

Listed in the i newspaper’s ‘20 best pubs with rooms in the UK for 2019‘ feature on Friday, these inns have yet again been recognised for their first class standards.

Anglesey property The Bull at Beaumaris, Lancashire’s The Inn at Whitewell and Country Durham’s The Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk (pictured above) all made this prestigious list of properties to priorities a visit to next year.

Here’s what the i newspaper’s travel team had to say about our three properties:

The Bull

“Though it has the street front of a Georgian coaching inn, the building within dates back to the 1500s. Onsite bedrooms mix original beams with contemporary furnishings, or there’s modern accommodation in the nearby Townhouse. The menu offers dishes such as Rhug estate venison.”

The Inn at Whitewell

“On the banks of the River Hodder, with views to the Forest of Bowland, this ancient, antique-filled inn brims with personality. There are open fires in the bar, dining room, and even a few bedrooms. A ghillie is available for a day’s fishing. The menu specialises in local game.”

The Rose & Crown

“Beside the Saxon village church, this dog-friendly 18th-century inn offers bedrooms with a mix of antique and locally made furniture. Courtyard rooms are contemporary. In the oak-panelled dining room, the menu takes provenance seriously: try the loin of Raby estate venison with dauphinoise potatoes, braised cabbage and bacon, crisp Parma ham, venison jus.”
